Las Vaqueras, means “The Cowgirls” in Spanish. We are a women’s riding group established in 1993 by Judy Foster. We became incorporated in October of 2003. While many of our members are in the South Orange County area of San Juan Capistrano, we have members all over Southern California.
Our objective is to provide equestrian recreation for members and guests of the organization, to meet new people with similar interest, to provide learning experiences in horsemanship and with membership approval to contribute to worthy equestrian organizations that share the interest of membership. We strive and encourage safe horsemanship for our community, our members, and our guests. We trail ride and promote open spaces for all to enjoy.
We are a non-profit organization and not only get together for rides and fundraisers but we adopt other charitable organizations with similar goals and interests. Some of our past adoptees include Ortega Equestrian Center 4H Rangers, Mustard Seed Ranch, T.I.E.R. Foundation and the San Juan Equestrian Coalition.
We are 100 members strong. We ride to expand our circle of friends. We are daughters, sisters, mothers and grandmoms all coming together in this place called Las Vaqueras to join past and present for our future, and to keep traditional cowgirl western values for our horses, our hearts and our friends.
Happy Trails,
